As temperatures in Chicago plummeted to -15°c this week (with a wind chill of -46°c), one of the City’s good samaritans paid for 70 homeless men and women to stay in a hotel to seek shelter from the chill. The Illinois city has been trapped in a polar vortex which as seen boiling water, and even noodles, freeze mid air.
A 43 year old woman running a marathon in Thailand stopped after she noticed a trembling lone puppy on her route. After picking him up, she finished the race with him in her arms and has since taken the pup home for good.
As a lifelong fan of someone you’ll understand what it meant for me to take this snap outside the home of @BarbraStreisand Asked Security for permission & he replied ‘It’s a public road, but thanks for asking’ Wrote her this letter when I was 14. My wife is very understanding! pic.twitter.com/3SohXKpgZT

Twitter users were moved to tears this week when British actor Richard E. Grant shared a letter he’d written to Barbra Streisand, offering her place to stay in his Swaziland home when he was just 14. After 47 years, he finally got a response, and was overwhelmed with emotion when he heard the reply from his idol.
