Gosh! Kindness Edit #3

January was officially longer than a stretch limo, however it is finally over, and despite snow settling, the mornings are finally becoming brighter. To add a little more light to the dark, we have another wonderful collection of the kindness that’s taken place across the globe this week. Get involved and share your acts of kindness on social media with #GoshKindness.

1. Anonymous man pays for hotel stays for the homeless

As temperatures in Chicago plummeted to -15°c this week (with a wind chill of -46°c), one of the City’s good samaritans paid for 70 homeless men and women to stay in a hotel to seek shelter from the chill. The Illinois city has been trapped in a polar vortex which as seen boiling water, and even noodles, freeze mid air.

2. Marathon runner rescues puppy

A 43 year old woman running a marathon in Thailand stopped after she noticed a trembling lone puppy on her route. After picking him up, she finished the race with him in her arms and has since taken the pup home for good.

3. Actor Richard E. Grant shares moving letter he sent to Barbra Striesand as a child

Twitter users were moved to tears this week when British actor Richard E. Grant shared a letter he’d written to Barbra Streisand, offering her place to stay in his Swaziland home when he was just 14. After 47 years, he finally got a response, and was overwhelmed with emotion when he heard the reply from his idol.
