Gosh! Kindness Edit #15

Summer is here in more ways than one this week as we spread a little sunshine with these lovely acts of kindness we’ve spotted. Get involved and share your acts of kindness on social media with #GoshKindness.

1. Police officer comforts 9-year-old mourning her cat

A police officer in Alabama provided much-needed comfort to a young girl who had just witnessed her cat being hit by a car. Officer Justin Whitten noticed Makayla Hogue crying in her garden so approached her to offer support, but his good deed didn’t stop there. The following day he returned with a new cat for Makayla and her sister.

2. Warwickshire students do gardening for neighbours

A group of students at Warwickshire students helped their neighbours this week when they manicured the lawn of their neighbourhood public garden. Borrowing a couple of rakes last weekend, Ben and George cleared all the cut grass from the verges while Alex and Azzura made refreshments. A resident of the road said: “The four of them have been exceptionally kind and helpful. It‘s been a pleasure to have them in our little community.”

3. Runner who stopped to help fallen competitor wins the state championship

An athlete in California learned the value of karma when she stopped during a championship track race to help a fallen runner. Samantha Wallenstrom gave a hand to Rayna Stanziano and they both qualified for the next round. Her good deed was rewarded when Wallenstrom won the state championship, charging down the stretch to finish first.
