Gosh! Kindness blog #1

January is in full swing, Christmas is all but a distant memory and even snow has made its’ first appearance in what’s set to be a chilly month. With Blue Monday just around the corner, and the full force of winter enveloping the UK we’ve rounded up a uplifting edit of the kindest things to have happened across the globe that’ll warm your heart more than a plate of our Gosh! sausages on a cold day.

University of Glasgow community fridge

Students at the uni have started the year positively with a well stocked community fridge full of goodies. Launched this month, the uni hopes it’ll help reduce food poverty and food waste at Glasgow University, and they’re happy for anyone in the library to take as much or little as they need or want.

Random act of kindness in Australia

Earlier in the month, Kylie Young returned to her pick up truck in Lithgow in New South Wales to find an anonymous note from someone leaving her accessories for her vehicle. The kind stranger didn’t ask for payment and Kylie shared the story in the hopes of encouraging others to do something similar.

Free pub lunches in South London

A pub in Wimbledon wants to support the lonely by hosting #MeetUpMondays. The lunch, which includes sandwiches, tea, coffee and games including bingo and a quiz, will happen every week. The Alexandra was inspired to arrange the meetups after the positive response the pub had over Christmas when they offered a free turkey dinner to anyone spending Christmas day alone.

We love seeing how kindness spreads, so if you’ve seen an example of kindness you’d like to share with us email us at [email protected].
