80-year-old Kamalaathaal has been serving meals in the southern Indian city of Coimbatore for 30 years, and despite the popularity of her dishes, she still charges less than a cent each for rice cakes with lentil soup and chutney. She makes just over £2 profit a day, but says this is more than enough, because feeding people makes her happy, and wants to help those who can’t afford more costly meals.

A passer by captured the moment a police officer in Detroit approached a homeless man, Stanley Nelson, to help him shave. The man had been donated a razor a shaving cream and was struggling with the officer noticed him. Nelson said: “That was beautiful what he did, because he didn’t have to do that. You know, I’m going through my thing and I feel bad about myself, you know, but I’m gonna be alright.”

A woman left a sign by her driveway letting people know she’d be out all day, and therefore the space outside her house could be used by strangers without worry. Her simple act of kindness was rewarded with instant karma when a passer by noticed and left a note and £5 to treat herself to something ‘frivolous’.
